A New Era of Work: AI, Green Jobs & Digital Transformation

Imagine a future where technology, AI, digitalization, and sustainability completely change the job market, Future of Jobs Report 2023 highlights.

From 2023 to 2027, big changes are expected

AI, renewable energy, and online businesses will create more jobs, with roles like AI and Machine Learning Specialists, Sustainability Analysts, Digital Marketing experts, and Talent Acquisition professionals becoming more common. As industries shift toward eco-friendly practices, the demand for sustainability jobs is clear, with three of these jobs already in the top 10 most in-demand positions. The green transition is no longer just a trend, it’s becoming a core part of future industries.

But this change also has a downside

The report warns that 14 million jobs could be lost globally, a 2% drop in employment. Traditional office jobs like data entry are expected to decline, replaced by AI-driven tools, and the same applies to Relationship Manager roles. While some jobs will disappear, the report also highlights the growing importance of sustainability. Jobs like Sustainability Specialists and Managers are becoming more in demand, with Sustainability Analysts ranked among the top 40, showing the increasing need for green expertise.

This shift is already happening

Between 2018 and 2022, jobs like Sustainability Analysts and Customer Success Analysts grew by 10% to 60% each year, showing how businesses are focusing more on sustainability, digital transformation, and talent management.

Looking ahead, the report suggests that tough economic conditions will continue between 2023 and 2027. Rising living costs and slower economic growth are forcing companies to adapt.

What about Spain?

By 2027, countries like Spain will see a growing demand for jobs in sustainability and technology. Workers will need to learn new skills to keep up. While traditional roles may disappear, new opportunities will emerge in AI, sustainability, and digital sectors. The future job market will focus on automation, digital skills, and eco-friendly practices, creating new trends and career paths.

As we look ahead to these exciting changes in the job market, one important question remains: What is needed to make these transitions successful? In the next posts, we’ll explore key initiatives that can help enable smooth job shifts in this evolving labor landscape. Stay tuned!
